The League of Women Voters (LWV) is involved in two upcoming forums, for those who would like to learn more about statewide redistricting efforts. You’re invited to join them for either or both events!
Thursday, March 19
The League of Women Voters of Oregon (LWVOR) and League of Women Voters of Lane County will hold a forum about redistricting on Thursday evening, March 19, in Eugene. Community members can learn about Oregon’s existing redistricting process and reforms proposed as a ballot initiative by People Not Politicians, a diverse coalition advocating reform. The public forum is free and will be held 6-7:15 p.m. at Hilyard Community Center, 2580 Hilyard St.
Week of April 20 (Details Forthcoming)
Pencil in this one, and we’ll update this post once we know more. Commissioners with California’s independent redistricting commission will visit Oregon to share information and answer questions. Plans are still coming together. Other organizations involved include Eugene-Springfield NAACP, Common Cause, and the League of Women Voters of Oregon.
